Mogadishu, Somalia – Somalia has welcomed a statement made by US President Donald Trump on Truth Social, in which he expressed his support for helping Somalia defeat Al-Shabaab and ISIS.

Hussein Sheikh Ali, Somalia’s National Security Adviser, shared a post on his official Twitter account praising Trump’s stance on supporting Somalia and his firm position on combating Al-Shabaab and ISIS. He noted that these groups continue to pose a serious threat to Somalia’s stability and the entire Horn of Africa region.

“We appreciate President Trump’s strong stance against terrorism and foreign interference,” Hussein Sheikh Ali wrote.

He added that Somalia remains one of the key partners in the global fight against extremism.

“Together, we will safeguard regional stability and advance our shared security interests,” he added.

Somalia continues to face significant security challenges due to ongoing threats from Al-Shabaab and ISIS, which many consider to be major security concerns in the Horn of Africa.

The statement from the National Security Adviser underscores Somalia’s commitment to international cooperation aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.
