Djibouti City – A graduation ceremony was held on April 30, 2025 in Djibouti for the 22nd cohort of the Somali Police Force who completed their training in the country. The event highlighted regional security cooperation and the international support provided to Somalia’s security institutions.The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from Somalia, Djibouti, and Italy, underlining the importance of regional and international collaboration in advancing peace and security.The Director General of the Djibouti Police, Abdourahman Ali Kahin, warmly welcomed Djibouti’s Minister of Interior, Saïd Nouh Hassan, alongside senior Djiboutian police officers and representatives from the Italian forces based in Djibouti.Speaking at the event, Somali Deputy Police Commissioner Osman Abdullahi Mohamed expressed deep gratitude for the ongoing support from Djibouti and Italy. He noted that the training significantly enhanced the skills and capacity of the Somali officers and described the occasion as historic.“Today is a proud day. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the new recruits of the 22nd cohort who have officially completed their training and now join the Somali Police Force,” said Deputy Commissioner Osman.This is not the first training program held in Djibouti, but it marks a milestone for the 22nd cohort of the Darwish Division of the Somali Police Force who received specialized training in the country.Representatives from the “MINITI” mission, which oversaw the training, also addressed the ceremony, reaffirming their commitment to supporting Somalia’s security sector development.
