Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Somali National Army backed by the local forces, Macawisley on Wednesday killed 5 Al-Shabaab fighters and recovered two AK47 rifles after carrying out an operation near Ceel Deer town in Galguddu region in central Somalia’s Galmudug State.

SNA Radio said in a developing story from the region that the joint forces conducted the operation, but did not provide details if there were casualties on the army side.

Al-Shabaab claimed to have killed one soldier in an ambush attack along the way near the same town in the morning.

There is no independent sources of what and how exactly happened the incident in the region so far, but Al-Shabaab claimed to have killed 59 soldiers, recovered vehicles, weapons and captured the town in short period early this morning after attacking army bases there.

Somali Government denied the group’s claims and said that it killed 47 Al-Shabaab members during operation by SNA and local forces there.
