Flynas, the leading low-cost airline in the Middle East, officially launched regular flights between Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Djibouti on 8th January. This development is a significant step in bolstering economic, cultural, and social ties between the two countries.

The inaugural flight, which marked the beginning of three weekly services between the cities, departed from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. A ceremony attended by Djibouti’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dya-Eddine Said Bamakhrama, and representatives from Flynas and Jeddah Airport Company highlighted the event’s importance.

Upon arrival at Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport, the flight received a warm welcome. Dignitaries, including Faisal Al-Qabbani, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Djibouti, and Djibouti’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, were present to commemorate the occasion.

A spokesperson for Djibouti’s Embassy in Saudi Arabia described the new route as a “symbol of the strong brotherly relations between the two nations,” emphasizing its role in fostering humanitarian, cultural, and economic collaboration.

Flynas, which operates a fleet of 61 aircraft serving over 1,500 weekly flights to destinations across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa, aims to expand travel options and strengthen ties between the two regions. “This new route will provide enhanced travel opportunities for our guests seeking connections between the Middle East and Africa,” a Flynas representative said.

The launch is expected to stimulate tourism, trade, and investment opportunities, further integrating Djibouti and Saudi Arabia into the regional economic framework. With the addition of this route, Flynas continues its mission of connecting global destinations through affordable and reliable air travel.
