Discussions at the meeting centered on methods to improve local health services.The Deputy Minister of the Somali Regional State (SRS) Health Office, who opened the session, highlighted substantial improvements in the region’s healthcare infrastructure following recent reforms. “Following the changes in our region, we have made significant strides in delivering healthcare services, including the expansion and renovation of 23 hospitals and the addition of over 50 new health centers,” he stated.The health conference also noted a decrease in maternal and infant mortality rates, attributed to intensified efforts in healthcare services.Held biannually in Jigjiga, this conference serves as a platform for showcasing progress in tackling prevalent diseases, managing healthcare facilities, and improving overall health services within the Somali Regional State.
