Birqod District, Jarar Region – The Somali Regional State of Ethiopia has officially concluded the training for its 17th batch of police officers, who have completed six months of intensive preparation at the Gaashaanle Khadar Police Training School.

The graduation ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Head of Regional Security Abdulqadir Rashid Ducaale, Jarar Regional Governor, Somali Region Police Commissioner Major General Abdi Ali Siyad, and other dignitaries.

Commissioner Abdi Ali Siyad lauded the graduates, stating that they would serve as law-abiding defenders of the people. “From today, you are part of those who have long safeguarded this region with courage and sacrifice,” he noted.

Abdulqadir Rashid Ducaale stressed the importance of police in maintaining regional peace and stability. He urged officers to build stronger ties with communities and security institutions to counter radical ideologies.

“The reason our people sleep peacefully today is due to your commitment and the oath you’ve taken,” Ducaale added.

The regional government labeled the training a success and pledged to expand its investment in security capacity-building to further safeguard the region.
