MOGADISHU, April 19, 2025 – Puntland Counter-Terrorism Forces have killed nearly 50 fighters from the Daesh group following a successful operation in the Miraale Valley over the past 24 hours. According to the Puntland Ministry of Defense, the forces also seized significant quantities of weapons, supplies, and other military equipment during the operation, which took place in a strategically important area long believed to be a Daesh stronghold.

The operation is still ongoing in parts of the Miraale Valley, with the forces continuing their efforts to clear Daesh fighters from the area. Puntland’s regional government has confirmed that the operation is still underway.

This operation is part of the third phase of Puntland’s ongoing campaign against Daesh, with plans for a fourth phase aimed at completely removing the group from the mountainous areas of the region.
