Djibouti City, Djibouti – The Republic of Djibouti marked World Book Day with a national celebration led by the Minister of Youth and Culture, Hibo Mumin Asoowe, who officially inaugurated the event at the National Printing House in the capital.The ceremony was held as part of the Third Djibouti Book Exhibition, which featured a wide selection of literature spanning science, education, poetry, and fiction. The exhibition brought together authors, poets, students, and officials from across the country in celebration of books as instruments of learning, cultural preservation, and societal development.One of the highlights of the event was a book donation from the Embassy of Japan to Djibouti’s National Printing House. Minister Hibo expressed her appreciation to the Japanese Ambassador for his continuous support in promoting education and literature in Djibouti.“This donation will greatly support the intellectual growth of our youth and enhance the culture of reading,” said the Minister.The books include titles in literature, science, and education, carefully selected to benefit Djibouti’s students and aspiring writers.The Minister also emphasized that the Ministry of Youth and Culture will continue its efforts to promote reading culture, in close collaboration with educational institutions and Djibouti’s partner embassies.
