MOGADISHU, SOMALIA – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud welcomed Mikhail L. Bogdanov, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, to Villa Somalia today. The meeting focused on enhancing political, economic, and security cooperation between Somalia and Russia.During the discussions, Bogdanov conveyed a formal invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin, inviting President Hassan Sheikh to participate in the upcoming Russia-Arab Cooperation Forum, scheduled to be held in Moscow in May 2025.“This invitation marks a significant step in strengthening the relationship between Somalia and Russia.
