Garoowe, Somalia – Puntland has issued decisions aimed at controlling human trafficking and illegal migration at its airports. These decisions were made following a meeting between the Ministries of Security, Civil Aviation and Airports of Puntland, the Deputy Police Commissioner of Puntland, the Immigration Department, and the Garowe Airport Authority.

A statement from the Ministry of Security of Puntland Today confirmed that the meeting resulted in five key decisions, including measures to address human traffickers and the networks involved in illegal migration.

“The decision was made to strictly enforce the law against human traffickers and the networks involved in trafficking,” the statement said.

The decisions made during the meeting include:

• Fully preventing all illegal activities at airports.
• Stopping the increasing human trafficking that is harming youth, both physically and financially.
• Collaborating with all relevant adminstration agencies to combat human trafficking.
• Strictly enforcing the law against traffickers and trafficking networks.
• Ensuring airlines and ticket agencies work together to properly verify the documents of passengers.
