The Livestock Development Office of Somali Regional State (SRS) has sent two teams to various regions within the area to carry out activities related to animal husbandry and to evaluate poultry centers that have been prepared for the project.

The first team is working on implementing animal husbandry activities, while the second team is visiting poultry centers to ensure they meet the necessary standards.

The Minister of the Livestock Development Office of SRS, Abdulqadir Iimaan, urged the teams to carry out their tasks diligently and to submit detailed reports on the sites they visited, especially noting any challenges encountered and proposing potential solutions.

The animal husbandry program is being implemented in seven regions of the area and aims to improve livestock production, particularly in cattle farming. The program plans to involve 7,500 cattle in this initiative, while the teams are also providing awareness on the benefits of animal husbandry to the local population.

The Director of the Livestock Production Department at the Livestock Development Office of SRS emphasized that the program is a modern approach that can greatly enhance livestock production, particularly in cattle that yield high amounts of milk and meat.

The second team is taking steps to ensure that the poultry centers established are appropriate for the needs of the towns and cities where they are intended to operate, ensuring the facilities can accommodate the demand for poultry farming.

The Livestock Development Office of SRS is planning to expand these operations and spread them to other areas of the region to ensure the continuous development of the livestock sector and provide efficient support to farmers and pastoralists.
