Mogadishu – On the 11th of this month, the Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, received the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Somalia, Abdullah Bin Salem, at his office, where they held in-depth discussions on strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration in the field of security, particularly in the fight against the Al-Shabaab militant group, and the role of Qatar in supporting Somalia’s security efforts.

The two officials also discussed broader development matters, including the implementation of Somalia’s National Reform Agenda, which aims to strengthen governance and improve public services across the country.

Prime Minister Barre expressed his gratitude to the government of Qatar for the longstanding ties between the two nations and the consistent support provided to the Somali people — especially in critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

Ambassador Abdullah Bin Salem reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to continuing its multifaceted support for Somalia, emphasizing the importance of deepening bilateral relations for mutual benefit.
