DIRE DAWA, ETHIOPIA – The Somali Regional State (DDS) has confirmed on June 1 2025 that a total of 1,700 pilgrims from the region have safely traveled to perform Hajj this year, 2025.

The announcement, issued by the High Council of Islamic Affairs of DDS, stated that all these pilgrims have safely arrived in the sacred lands of the Haramayn during the year 1446 Hijri.

“In the year 1446 (2025), 1,700 pilgrims from the Somali Regional State have all safely reached the holy sites of the Haramayn,” read the statement from the regional government’s media.

The High Council of Islamic Affairs of DDS added that it successfully organized and completed essential services for the pilgrims, including document preparation, health awareness programs, and support from medical professionals and other staff who assisted the pilgrims, enabling the smooth conduct of the Hajj this year.

The 1,700 pilgrims from DDS are part of a total of 1,255,199 pilgrims who have arrived in Saudi Arabia to participate in Hajj 2025.
