A high-level delegation, led by the Vice President of Ethiopia’s Somali State, has arrived in the United States of America for an important meeting with the Diaspora Community. The aim of the vice president’s visit is to address important issues concerning the development, political stability, security, and economic challenges in the Somali State of Ethiopia.During these meetings, the delegation will also present investment opportunities in the region to encourage the Diaspora Community to invest in their homeland, contributing to the economic growth of the region.This two-week long discussions also comes at a time when there are various humanitarian crises in the region including the fire that broke out in one of the largest markets in Jigjiga, the capital city of the Somali State of Ethiopia.These meetings will serve as a platform for the contribution of the business people affected by the disaster, and lost more than 1 Billion Ethiopia Birr.
