Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-The Republic of Djibouti and the Ugandan Government have pledged to enhance bilateral relations and diplomatic ties through trade and investment cooperation.

Aboubaker Omar Hadi, Chair of Djibouti Ports and Freezones Authority, led a high-level delegation for an official meeting with David Bahati, the Ugandan Minister of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives, to discuss the development of the Djibouti-Addis-Juba-Kampala Corridor. This joint project was jointly signed by the four countries in 2019.

“A delegation from @dpfza and @GHIHolding, led by Chairman @omar_hadi, embarked on a significant journey to Kampala. The mission is to achieve the revitalization of Djibouti-Addis-Jubba-Kampala Corridor, a project jointly approved by the four countries in 2019,” stated the Djibouti Authority of Ports and Freezones in a tweet.

The meeting also addressed other trade relations between Djibouti and Uganda, including matters related to ports, air travel, and flight connections.

“I met a delegation from Djibouti led by the Chairman of the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority, H.E Aboubaker Omar Hadi. We discussed trade relations, especially on their ports being significant connectivity & gateway to the huge Asian and Middle East markets,” said David Bahati, Ugandan Minister of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives.

This high profile meeting is among several efforts made by the government of Djibouti to strengthen their bilateral ties and diplomatic relations with its neighbouring countries.
