These heavy rains have been witnessed in the city of Djibouti and other regions.Roads across the country have turned impassable due to the blockage and excessive mud that has made movements difficult.Djibouti’s emergency department has taken measures taken to unblock the city’s drainage systems, to mitigate the floods, and prevent further damage.For the past three months, Djibouti faced extreme heat beyond 40°C during the summer season.Furthermore, there were strong winds during the months of June and July that led to the spread of fires in markets and residential areas.
