Djibouti(Mogadishu24)- The President of the Republic of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh, received a delegation from the General State Inspectorates of Africa on Wednesday, which came to review Djibouti’s progress in governance and leadership.

This General State Inspectorates of Africa, founded in Djibouti in 2006, comprising 24 African countries.

The steering committee held its 13th meeting at Djibouti’s Kempinski Palace on the 24th and 25th of this month to address issues related to good governance, transparency, and accountability among its member states.

Djibouti’s member in the steering committee, Hassan Issa Sultan, emphasized the importance of the Inspectorates Committee in enhancing the quality of service delivery to the citizens of its member states.

He noted that the committee had reached resolutions that promote good governance and boost economic growth and financial management in Africa.

‘We had a meeting of the Inspectorates Committee from all member states, which resulted in important resolutions that will enhance our governance system, promote transparency and accountability, and improve the delivery of quality services to our citizens,’ said Mr. Hassan Issa, Djibouti’s Inspector General.

‘Through this Steering Committee meeting, we have also made decisions to harmonize economic growth and promote financial management systems in Africa,’ he added.

Mr. Hassan also mentioned that the meeting discussed the organization of a major meeting for the Steering Committee to be held in Angola.

President Guelleh discussed his government’s recent achievements and contributions to regional matters, including peace and stability. He reiterated his commitment to providing good governance and quality services to the people of Djibouti.

Djibouti’s strategic location in Africa, its unique natural resources have made it a key trade hub for the continent, attracting investments and strengthening bilateral relations with countries such as France, the United States, Russia, Italy, China, and several Arab nations.
