Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-The Prime Minister of Djibouti, Abdoulkadir Kamil Mohamed, received a high-level delegation from Ethiopia’s Afar region on Tuesday. The delegation was led by the Vice Chairperson of the Afar Regional Administration, Ahmed Hussein.The Vice Chairperson of the regional administration was accompanied by the Afar Region’s State Minister of Culture and Tourism, Ahmed Abdulkadir Mohamed, the Region’s Finance Minister, Ahmed Mohamed, and the Director General of the Culture and Language Institute, Osman Mohamed Kande.During the meeting, the leaders discussed strengthening ties between the Republic of Djibouti and the Afar Regional Administration, particularly in the areas of culture and tourism.Prime Minister Abdoulkadir Kamil Mohamed of Djibouti emphasized the long-standing relationship between Djibouti and the Afar region of Ethiopia. He reiterated Djibouti’s commitment to strengthening the partnership and creating a collaborative environment to achieve common goals.“We welcome the delegation from the Afar region of Ethiopia, which visited us to promote our partnerships in the cultural sector. We have a long-standing relationship with the region, and as the government of Djibouti, we pledge to extend our efforts and create a working partnership to achieve our shared interests, goals, and missions,” said Prime Minister Abdoulkadir Kamil Mohamed.The delegation applauded the Prime Minister and acknowledged his efforts in advancing the promotion of culture and diversity in Djibouti, as well as strengthening collaboration between his office and the Afar region.Ahmed Hussein, the Vice Chairperson of the Afar Regional Administration, highlighted the importance of the delegation’s visit to Djibouti.“Today, we met with Prime Minister Abdoulkadir Kamil Mohamed at his office. As part of the aim of our visit, we discussed collaboration between our region and Djibouti in cultural diversity and partnership. We also came to extend greetings from President Awol Arba Unde to Djibouti’s leaders and his commitment to work with the government of Djibouti,” said Mr. Ahmed Hussein, Vice Chairman of the Afar Regional Government.This delegation is expected to have engagements with several key leaders and visit institutions and cultural centres during their four-day visit to Djibouti.
