Nairobi(Mogadishu24)-Somalia has secured the second successive win in the on-going U-18 CECAFA tournament on Tuesday with a 3-0 victory against Sudan at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu, Kenya.The scoring opened with Bilal Idris’ fine finish in the 27th minute to mark Somalia’s dominance in the first half with a 1-0 lead.Mahad Abdulkadir extended the lead by scoring the second goal after the ball bounced off the post following Bilal’s lethal cross. Mohamed Omar sealed the victory with a goal in the 89th minute.The Somalia U-18 team showcased great teamwork and defensive skills, with a promising future for football in Somalia.In their first CECAFA match on Saturday, Somalia secured a 1-0 victory against Rwanda. The Somali U-18 team is set to face Kenya on Friday.In recent years, football in Somalia has shown crucial improvement, with the Somali people acknowledging the national team’s success in recent competitions and their impressive performances.Last year, Somalia’s U17 national team emerged victorious in the U-17 CECAFA tournament held in Ethiopia.Somalia senior team is currently competing in the World Cup qualifying competition.
