Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-The Court of Auditors in Djibouti organized a ceremony on Wednesday for the swearing-in of 17 new magistrates appointed by President Ismail Omar Guelleh to serve the Court of Auditors.

This appointment was in accordance with Article 15 (140) of the law governing the organizations and operations of financial jurisdictions. All the magistrates of the Court of Auditors were present at the swearing-in ceremony.

President Ismahan Mahamoud Ibrahim and the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Auditors, Ismail Cowle, warmly welcomed the new magistrates to the court.

President Ismahan Abdi highlighted the importance of this appointment, noting the need for structural adaptation of the court due to the increased number of magistrates.

She emphasized the dedicated nature of the magistrate profession, particularly highlighting qualities of independence and loyalty.

“The swearing-in of the new magistrates into the Court is an important milestone in enhancing the accessibility and effectiveness of the institution. We encourage the newly sworn-in magistrates to uphold the highest standards of ethics and values as they carry out their constitutional duties,” President Ismahan said.

The diverse backgrounds of the new magistrates, which matches with the court’s access requirements, will significantly complement the existing skills within the institution.
