Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-Djibouti and Turkey Governments strengthened bilateral relations and cooperation after high level diplomats from the Turkey and Djiboutian held fruitful talks in Djibouti today on Monday.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said on X post that he held fruitful discussions Turkey delagation on promoting cooperation between the two sides at the Ministry of foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

He said that they explored many areas which would be comparative advantages for the two countries, but he did not provide more details about what exactly would the cooperation be and areas.

“The 5th Turkish Djibouti commission began its work this morning at MAECI”, he said.

According to Turkey’s Ministry of foreign Affairs, Diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Djibouti were established in 1977. The Embassy of Djibouti in Ankara was inaugurated in 2012 and the Turkish Embassy in Djibouti was inaugurated in 2013.

Relations between Türkiye and Djibouti have been steadily developing in political, economic and commercial fields.
