Kismayo(Mogadishu24)-Somali National Army’s elite forces backed by Jubaland State Dervish forces killed 50 Al-Shabaab militants and injured others after conducting operation at several areas in lower Jubba region southern parts of the country.

Deputy Minister of Information of Somalia, Abdirahman Yusuf Al-Adala told the State-run media that 20 militant fighters were arrested during the operations that lasted in the past four days.

“Jubaland State forces inflicted heavy casualties on the terrorists against this morning”, Jubaland State Minister for Information, Abdifatah Mohamed Mukhtar said on Facebook, sharing photos of soldiers and armed vehicles in operation at forest area.

But State-run media said Monday that 7 members of the Al-Shabaab were also arrested during the operation at Muse-Haji, Malaylay, Turdho, Baxar-saafka and other areas in the region, it also displayed photos of 7 and other disturbing images of dead bodies.
