Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud welcomed Ms. Mama Keita of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and Mr. George Conway, the UN Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General (DSRSG), along with international experts at the State House on Tuesday evening.The meeting centered on advancing the third and final phase of the Centennial Vision 2060 (CV2060) development process, Somalia’s strategic plan for achieving upper-middle-income status by 2060.During the discussions, President Mohamud highlighted that CV2060 will serve as the cornerstone for the National Transformation Plan, guiding the country’s medium-term and sectoral plans up to 2060. The vision aims to create a sustainable and prosperous future for Somalia, leveraging strategic planning and international cooperation.Also present at the meeting were members of the National Economic Council of Somalia, who are integral to the implementation and oversight of the CV2060 development process. The collaborative discussions underscored the importance of aligning national strategies with global best practices to achieve long-term economic and social objectives.The President expressed his commitment to working closely with UNECA, the United Nations, and other international partners to ensure the successful realization of CV2060, setting Somalia on a path toward significant economic growth and development.
