Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, chaired a high-level consultative meeting on Wednesday to strategize Somalia’s participation in the upcoming Ninth Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), set to take place in Beijing from September 4 to 6, 2024.The meeting focused on aligning Somalia’s priorities for the forum, with discussions covering critical areas such as politics, security, investment, technology, energy, water, agriculture, trade, and fisheries. A key agenda item was securing funding for a clean water project in Mogadishu, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving living conditions in the capital.The session was attended by several ministers and high-ranking officials, emphasizing the importance of strategic planning for Somalia’s future engagements with China. Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is expected to join the delegation, marking the largest Somali delegation ever to attend the FOCAC forum.
