Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, held a constructive meeting today with the British Ambassador to Somalia, Michael Stephen Nithavrianakis.The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and the UK’s reaffirmation of Somalia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unity.The meeting comes just days after Minister Fiqi expressed strong disapproval of a recent tweet by Ambassador Nithavrianakis, which mentioned the UK’s support for the work of The HALO Trust in “Somalia and Somaliland.” The tweet sparked controversy, as it was perceived by many Somalis as a divisive statement.
