Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-President Ismail Omar Guelleh, in a speech at the Council of Ministers, outlined the top priorities for his government as the new political year begins.

The President emphasized the implementation of major development projects, particularly the expansion of port activities and the growth of telecommunications and energy sectors as key drivers of economic growth.

President Guelleh highlighted the importance of economic diversification, focusing on tourism, agriculture, renewable energy, and digital infrastructure. He stressed the need for social inclusivity, aiming to reduce barriers for women and people with disabilities, and emphasized the government’s commitment to affordable housing and healthcare.

On the international stage, Djibouti will seek to strengthen regional cooperation and advocate for a more balanced global order at upcoming forums, including the Forum on Sino-African Cooperation (FOCAC) and the Summit for the Future in New York.

President Guelleh expressed confidence in Djibouti’s future prosperity and sustainability.
