Members of Parliament (MPs) were notified of today’s session just hours before its commencement, after several delays over the past days raised concerns among observers.

While no official reason was provided for the recent postponements, discussions have surfaced regarding a motion submitted by some MPs. These lawmakers opposed certain actions taken by fellow parliamentarians, which led to a brief standoff. However, reports indicate that an agreement was eventually reached to resolve the dispute.

Key issues remain pending on the legislative agenda, with some matters still incomplete and requiring further hearings and debates. Others await submission to specialized parliamentary committees, who are expected to oversee their progress.

Speaker of the House of the People, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur, has urged MPs to ensure their attendance in today’s session. He emphasized the importance of avoiding a quorum issue, as the session cannot officially begin until the minimum number of MPs is present.
