Juba, South Sudan(Mogadishu24)–EAC Secretary General Veronica Nduva met with South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit, Chairperson of the Summit of EAC Heads of State, to discuss key regional issues Friday.

Their talks focused on the upcoming EAC Ordinary Summit, preparations for EAC@25 celebrations, a comprehensive review of the EAC Treaty, and the establishment of a regional peace and security forum.

President Kiir reaffirmed South Sudan’s commitment to EAC integration, emphasizing the fast-tracking of the EAC Customs Union Management Act, operationalizing the One Network Area, and the Nimule-Elego border.
