Garowe(Mogadishu24)-The Puntland Development Research Center (PDRC) successfully concluded its Second Annual Peace Conference (APC) held from September 21st to 23rd, under the theme “The Role of Media in Peace and Conflicts in Fragile Contexts.”The conference brought together Somali peacebuilding experts, government officials, journalists, academics, and civil society representatives to discuss the media’s critical role in fostering peace and reconciliation.In his closing remarks, Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni emphasized Puntland’s readiness for meaningful dialogue with the Federal Government of Somalia to resolve the ongoing political dispute.He invited Somalis to openly assess Puntland’s position and called for a neutral space for discussions, expressing hope that such dialogue would lead to peaceful resolutions and unity.The PDRC applauded President Deni’s commitment to constructive dialogue and recognized the media’s powerful role in promoting reconciliation. The conference underscored the importance of inclusive decision-making and dialogue in Somalia’s state-building process, urging federal member states and their leaders to support peaceful engagement.PDRC reiterated its commitment to fostering collaboration and contributing to initiatives that promote a unified and peaceful Somalia.
