Hargeysa(Mogadishu24)-Somaliland Foreign Minister Dr. Essa Kayd held a productive meeting with French Ambassador to Kenya and Somalia, Arnaud Suquet, and his delegation, to discuss the current situation in the Horn of Africa, Somaliland’s regional cooperation, and security perspectives Wednesday.The French Embassy detailed the visit, highlighting discussions on strengthening the health system and launching new projects focused on culture and agriculture in Somaliland.One of the key projects is safeguarding the Laas Geel site, a Neolithic-era rock shelter with 5,000-year-old paintings. Ambassador Suquet also shared his pride in establishing a partnership to protect this cultural heritage.Ambassador Suquet’s visit included talks with Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi, reaffirming France’s support for free, fair, and inclusive presidential and party elections scheduled for November 13 this year.
