Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Former Somali President, Sharif Sh. Ahmed has strongly condemned suicide bomb attack on General Kahiye Police Academy in Hamar Jajab district in the capital Mogadishu that left at least 7 people dead including Police officers and civilians on Thursday afternoon.

Sharif expressed deep sorrow over those killed in the attack and wished the injured victims for quick recovery. Police forces confirmed that suicide bomber blew himself in front of the academy and caused the casualties.

Al-Shabaab militants claimed the responsibility for the attack and said its bomber targeted the Police Academy and killed 15 Police officers and injured 12 others.

The attack comes a day after suspected Al-Shabaab militants shot two shopkeepers dead and injured another one in Mogadishu’s Hodan district for their compliance of Government directive to install CCTV cameras on their business centers.
