Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre appointed several new officials on Monday, including Abdisalan Abdi Ali as the second deputy prime minister.The reshuffle also introduced Dr. Elmi Nur as Minister of Public Works and Housing, Yusuf Mohamed Aden as Minister of Labour and Social Services, and Mohamed Ahmed Aden as Minister of Ports and Marine Transport, among others.The changes come amid political tensions, following reports of a motion by members of the Federal Parliament seeking to remove the Prime Minister.Recent parliamentary sessions have been disrupted, with deputy speakers presiding over today’s session despite the presence of the Speaker and his deputies.It remains unclear if these appointments will ease the ongoing political unrest.
