Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, extending his condolences over the recent terrorist attack at Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) in Ankara. The attack, which took place in Kahramankazan, claimed multiple lives and left several injured.

During the call, President Mohamud expressed deep sorrow for the tragic loss of life and wished a swift recovery to those injured. “Somalia stands in solidarity with the brotherly people and Government of Türkiye in their fight against terrorism,” he said.

President Mohamud highlighted Somalia’s empathy with Türkiye, noting that Somalia has faced similar challenges in its own fight against terrorism. He commended the swift response by Türkiye’s security forces and expressed confidence that those responsible would be brought to justice.

The Somali government reaffirmed its commitment to standing with Türkiye and the international community in combating terrorism, emphasizing that their partnership is rooted in shared values and mutual trust. “In these trying moments, Somalia calls on the international community to strengthen cooperation against terrorism.

Together, we can ensure that such acts do not weaken our resolve to protect our people and uphold peace,” the statement read.

The call between the two leaders underscores the close ties between Somalia and Türkiye, as both nations continue to work together in addressing security threats and promoting stability in their respective regions.
