Mogadishu-Al-Shabaab militants executed five men accused of spying for the Somalia’s Federal Government, Jubaland State and the United States of American in Fafah-dhun location in Gedo region, Southern Somalia, Mogadishu24 reported Monday.Abdi Mohamed Abdi (42), Abdisamad Abdukadir Hassan (22), Mohamed Aden Mohamud (31), Mewled Abdullahi Elmi (43) and Siyad Mohudin Osman (27) were the men shot in public execution on Sunday afternoon.The group’s affiliated media reported that Al-Shabaab militants executed over 20 men in Tiyeglow, Kenya-Barow, Sakow, Jilib and Bu’ale districts in lower Shabelle, Middle Juba and Bakool regions in southern Somalia in the past two months.The group carries out such public execuations in areas under its full control, despite on-going offensive operations by Somalia’ Government together with International Partners.This comes a day after Suspected Al-Shabaab militants beheaded five individuals and set houses ablaze in the villages of Salama and Juhudi, located in Mkunubi Division of Lamu County in Kenya.
