Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Al-Shabaab militants on Friday released video footages of deadly fighting with Somali National Army and local forces at SNA bases in lower Shabelle, Middle Shabelle and Mudug regions and displayed soldiers captured at the battlefield during the holy month of Ramadan.

The group’s video shows mass killing of soldiers at Busley and Basra in lower Shabelle, Daru-nicma in Middle Shabelle and near Harardhere district in Mudug region. in some areas like the fight at Daru-nicma, the warring parts exchange heavy gunfire and came closely to one another. It claimed that the fighters killed 57 SNA soldiers including a commander of Somalia’s Turkish trained unit(Gor-gor),Liban Golcad.

The group also claimed that its fighters killed 20 SNA and local forces at Daru-nicma area alone and recovered large amount of weapons while burning dow heavy vehicles used by the Somali forces.

The video footage coincided with 64th anniversary of the Somali National Army which is being marked today, April 12, 2024.
