Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Benadir Hospital for Maternity and Child Care has on Monday entered into a partnership with Qatar Charity to manage and improve the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).The agreement, signed in the presence of Drs. Fartun Sharif, Director General of Banadir Hospital, and Abdul Fattah Adam Maalim, Director of Qatar Charity’s Somalia office, aims to increase neonatal survival rates by 10% for in-hospital births and 30% for those born outside.Drs. Fartun Sharif expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, “Today marks a new beginning towards improving neonatal care at the hospital.” Abdul Fattah Adam highlighted the significance of the collaboration, emphasizing Qatar Charity’s commitment to supporting child health in Somalia.The agreement is expected to enhance the availability of medical resources and improve the overall quality of neonatal care, with far-reaching positive effects on infant survival rates in the country.
