Today, Somaliland has completed the registration of civilian forces, as stated by the Vice President of Somaliland.

The project of registering civilian forces in Somaliland was concluded today in the district of Quri-lugud, which was the location where it started several months ago.

Mohamed Ali Aw-Abdi, the Vice President of Somaliland, stated that this registration represents significant progress for Somaliland and will eliminate the possibility of individuals in every household carrying arms.

The Vice President of Somaliland also mentioned that from today onwards, there will be no armed forces in Somaliland except those authorized by the Somaliland. He further instructed that any vehicle carrying weapons, not belonging to the Somaliland forces, should be seized, and legal actions should be taken.

The registration of civilian forces in Somaliland began at the end of the second month of this year in the district of Quri-lugud, and today, it has been concluded there.”
