Jigjiga, DDS – More than 700 parents whose children attend schools under the administration of Jigjiga City participated in a major conference held on May 11 at the College of Public Management and Service. The focus of the gathering was to discuss strategies for enhancing the quality of education in the region.The two-day conference was chaired by senior officials from the Somali Regional State Education Bureau (DDS) and the Jigjiga city administration. Deputy Minister of Education, Mr. Dayib Muhumed Jama, and the Mayor of Jigjiga, Engineer Shafi Ahmed, strongly emphasized the need to strengthen the tripartite collaboration between parents, teachers, and school administrators to achieve meaningful educational outcomes.“We have limited time left, and it is essential for parents, teachers, and school management to work closely together,” said Dayib Muhumed Jama, highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts in realizing tangible improvements in education.Parents who spoke during the event underlined the importance of nurturing the intellectual capacity of students and called for regular monitoring and evaluation of education quality, especially with national examinations approaching.The conference is part of a broader initiative led by the Jigjiga city administration and the DDS Education Bureau to improve the education sector and ensure equal opportunities for all students to achieve academic success.
