In Mogadishu, a special training course was officially completed for units of the Darwish Forces.

The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Abdullahi Ismail Fartaag, and the Commander of the Somali Police Force, Major General Asad Osman Abdullahi, officially closed the training for the Darwish troops.

The training was provided by the European Union Capacity Building Mission in Somalia (EUCAP). During the training, the soldiers learned modern skills focused on fighting threats to security, especially combating militant groups in Somalia, protecting citizens’ rights, and using police laws to care for the community.

During the closing ceremony, the European Union also handed over vehicles and military equipment to the Somali government.

These vehicles are meant for the trained soldiers to help them in maintaining security and participating in operations against organized crime.
