Geneva,witzerland(Mogadishu24)-A parliamentary delegation from Djibouti, led by MP Naima Belhan Hussein, took part in the meetings of the standing committees of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), held over two days as part of the 149th IPU Assembly and the 214th session of the Governing Council in Geneva.

During the session, MP Naima Belhan presented Djibouti’s input on the topic “UN Treaties: Reviewing Ratifications and Implementation” at the United Nations Affairs Committee meeting.

She emphasized the importance of reviewing treaty commitments and ensuring their effective implementation, reflecting Djibouti’s stance on strengthening international cooperation through adherence to global agreements.

Additionally, she participated in discussions on promoting gender equality, highlighting Djibouti’s efforts to support gender equality within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly.

MP Belhan outlined initiatives undertaken by Djibouti to advance gender parity and empower women, demonstrating the country’s commitment to fostering inclusive policies on an international platform.
