Djibouti(Mogadishu24)- Djiboutian President, Ismail Omar Guelleh on Monday received Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Oraloglu, for discussions on strengthening economic cooperation between Djibouti and Turkey.“This meeting falls within the framework of the 5th meeting of the Djibouti-Turkey Joint Economic Committee. It made it possible to take stock of existing partnerships in many sectors and identify promising new projects, including in strategic infrastructures”, The Presidency said in a statement.The Statement said that Several major agreements have been signed, such as the commissioning of the Turkish economic zone in Djibouti and an increased engagement of Turkish operators in projects such as the new airport.Djibouti is in a strategic location and currently hosts foreign military bases of powerful countries in the world like, France, U.S China, Japan and Italy.
