Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-Chairperson of Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority, Aboubaker Omar Hadi on Monday visited the Doraleh Container Terminal (SGTD) to mark a major milestone: over one million containers handled as of October.This achievement highlights the terminal’s efficiency and strategic importance in bolstering trade and economic growth throughout the region.Hadi expressed optimism for the terminal’s future, stating, “We are eager to end the year with 1.2 million TEUs. We extend our sincere gratitude to our valued partners and stakeholders, whose continued support has been instrumental in reaching this accomplishment.”The Doraleh Container Terminal’s success underscores Djibouti’s role as a key trade hub, enhancing connectivity and fostering economic advancement across East Africa and beyond.“The SGTD Doraleh Terminal achieved a historic milestone in October 2024 by surpassing 1 million TEU in just 10 months, marking the first time in its history.
