Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti departed on Friday for a diplomatic tour, attending the 15th summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Banjul, Gambia, from May 4-5, 2024.The summit will focus on critical issues in the Muslim world, including the ongoing crises in Gaza and Sudan. Following the OIC summit, President Guelleh will proceed to Guinea Bissau for an official visit with President Umaro Sissoco Embalo from May 5-6.The OIC summit aims to foster solidarity through dialogue, addressing topics such as Islamophobia, global warming, and food insecurity alongside regional conflicts.As the current acting president of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), President Guelleh is set to discuss the peace plan for Sudan, emphasizing efforts for stability and unity in the region.
