Addis Ababa(Mogadishu24)-Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mesganu Arga, held a meeting on Thursday at the ministry’s headquarters with the Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Evgeny Terekhin, to discuss bilateral relations, particularly the agriculture sector.During the meeting, the leaders discussed strengthening cooperation between Ethiopia and Russia in both bilateral and multilateral forums.Among the discussions was the upcoming Russia-Africa Summit aimed to promote economic cooperation between Africa Countries and Russia.“The two sides noted the need to enhance cooperation between the two countries in bilateral and multilateral forums, further discussing the upcoming Russia-Africa Summit,” reads the statement from Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.Minister Mesganu stated the Ethiopian government’s commitment to promoting food security through agricultural advancement and requested Russian government support in promoting the agriculture sector.He stressed Ethiopia’s interest in attracting Russian investment for a joint project to construct a fertilizer production plant within the country.Russian Ambassador, Mr. Evgeny, reaffirmed his government’s commitment to collaborative efforts and addressing mutual interests both in bilateral and multilateral issues.
