Jigjiga(Mogadishu24)-During the 47th anniversary celebration of the Eastern Command, Ethiopia’s Chief of Armed Forces, Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, emphasized the military’s preparedness to prevent any disturbance and defend the nation’s sovereignty.

He warned against historical enemies attempting to disrupt Ethiopia’s progress through alliances with mercenaries and internal traitors.

Speaking to military personnel and officials, including Deputy Prime Minister General Abebaw Tadesse, Birhanu urged continued readiness and highlighted the army’s sacrifices for peace, particularly in Somalia.

He criticized certain Somali leaders, accusing them of collaborating with Ethiopia’s enemies, but affirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to defend its sovereignty.

The event, attended by regional leaders and military figures, featured military displays and demonstrations from the Harari and Somali regions.
