Djiboiuti(Mogadishu24)-A tragic car accident on Venice Road in Djibouti has on Sunday resulted in one fatality and 20 injuries, according to local police. The incident occurred around 8:00 a.m. when a red Toyota, reportedly speeding and overloaded with 16 passengers, lost control and veered into the opposite lane. The vehicle collided with three other cars and an EDD pole.

Of the 22 people injured, two are reported to be in serious condition. One passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement on X, the Djibouti Police emphasized the dangers of speeding, noting, “We remind you once again that speed is the primary cause of road accidents.” Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
