Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Former Deputy Prime Minister of the Somalia, and Member of the Federal Parliament, Fawziya Yusuf Adam on Tuesday commented on her candidacy for the African Union Commission Chairperson.

Fawziya Yusuf Adam expressed her feeling with pleasure to run for the position of the African Union Commission Leadership, appreciating the President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his Government for their support.

” I am pleased to be a candidate of Somalia for the running the African Union Commission leadership. I am thanking President Hassan Sh. Mohamud and the Federal Government of Somalia for their support and encourage”, Fawziya said on X.

The Federal Government of Somalia nominated Fawziya Yusuf Adam as the Somalia’s candidate for the Chairperson of the Union Commission for 2025-2028 on January 14, 2024.

“Implementing Government plans to enhance its role in international organizations and the region, we have nominated member of the Federal Parliament, Fawziya Yusuf Adam to represent Somalia for the race of the leadership of the African Union Commission for 2025-2028 terms”, Office of the Somali Prime Minister said at the time.
