Djibouti(Mogadishu24)-On Monday at 2 p.m., a fire broke out in a warehouse in the Djibouti Free Zone (DDP FZCO) located on Venice Road. The fire was swiftly contained by firefighters from the Ports and Free Zones Authority of Djibouti, along with the Civil Protection service. There were no human casualties, and only minor material damage occurred to a few containers according to the authorities.

Port authorities commended the quick response of the emergency services, ensuring the blaze was controlled in time. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire, with the free zone’s CCTV surveillance system providing crucial support for the inquiry.

“The situation is under control, and we are currently investigating the origin of the fire,” said a spokesperson for the Ports and Free Zones Authority. “We will communicate the initial findings of the investigation as soon as possible.”
