Garowe(Mogadishu24)-At least one person was injured, and several vehicles were completely burnt after a fire erupted at a petrol station in Garowe, the administrative capital of Puntland State, Somalia, late last night.

Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started from a petrol truck tank at a nearby garage, leading to the blaze that engulfed the station and surrounding vehicles.

Video footage circulating on social media shows the extent of the damage, with cars ablaze and nearby buildings destroyed. The injured individual, identified as the watchman of the station, sustained light injuries.

Puntland State authorities have yet to provide an official statement on the cause or extent of the property damage. However, destructive fire incidents have been on the rise in the Somali region, with recent cases linked to Al-Shabaab attacks in southern districts like Ceelasha-biya and Garasbaley, where markets were set on fire using explosives.
