Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-The Federal Government of Somalia arrested 16 suspects who were involved in connection with the terrorist attack at SYL Hotel in Mogadishu on 15th March, 2024, killing at least 3, injuring over two dozens.The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Somalia said in a statement released on Saturday night that the National Intelligence and Security Agency(NISA) arrested Abdinasir Dahir Nur who facilitated the two cars with explosives to enter into the city.“Four other men with registration of ownership to those two cars were also seized after the Hotel attack, Five members of the Security forces at checkpoints are being interrogated and under investigation, we will share with the results of the investigation to public when it is concluded”, the statement said.The statement added that all men involved in the matter will be submitted to court for trail.Following extensive investigation, security forces successfully captured the network responsible for the SYL Hotel terrorist attack, arresting 16 suspects including the mastermind Abdinasir Dahir Nur. Justice will be served in court for all involved.— NISA (@HSNQ_NISA) March 23, 2024 This comes two weeks after Al-Shabaab attack on SYL Hotel which left at least 3 people and injured 30 others including members of the Federal Parliament on Somalia, but the attack raised suspicions regarding to how the militants reached such that hotel while there more security presence ahead of that zone.
